Aiken, SC- The actor who played young Anakin Skywalker in a “Star Wars” prequel was arrested for DUI over the weekend after leading South Carolina police on a high-speed car chase.

Jake Lloyd who starred as young Darth Vader in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” was arrested last week and charged with several counts. According to TMZ, police say Lloyd was driving recklessly, passing cars with a double yellow line and picking up speed, so police began their pursuit.

The Associated Press reports that during the 25-mile chase Lloyd reached speeds of up to 100 mph along I-95 before he driver his car into a field and slammed into a group of trees. It’s a wonder he didn’t kill anyone since dashcam footage obtained by the Independent UK shows the actor flying past and weaving in and out of dozens of vehicles.

Lloyd was charged with reckless driving, resisting arrest and driving without a license.

He was still in custody as of Sunday on $10,000 bond, TMZ reported.

Following his arrest, Lloyd’s mother revealed that her 19-year-old son suffers from schizophrenia and has recently gone off of his medications. The Daily Mail reports that just a few days before Lloyd led police on the wild chase, he had a physical altercation with his mother.

Now Lloyd joins the ranks of other child stars with drunken or drugged driving charges on their record. It’s a long list including Brittany Spears, David Cassidy and Justin Bieber. Most notable is Lindsay Lohan who had not one DUI, but two! Last summer another child star built by Disney was arrested for DUI. That happened to be Billy Unger star of “Lab Rats” fame who was arrested and charged after police caught him speeding in Malibu. There are many more.
