Atlanta, GA- WAGA anchor Amanda Davis has been a fixture in Atlanta homes for years, but now instead of deliver the news she is making the news following her DUI arrest early Monday morning.

Atlanta Police said that Davis was traveling north in the southbound lanes of Piedmont Ave. near Piedmont Park when she was involved in a wrong way accident.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that it appeared to be a head on collision.

In a statement to 11Alive, Atlanta Police spokesman Sgt. Gregory Lyon said, “Upon speaking with both drivers the officer detected an odor of alcohol emanating from Mrs. Davis’ person. He asked her if she had been drinking, to which she did respond the affirmative,” according to the Clarion-Ledger.

Davis refused to submit to a breathalyzer or a chemical blood test, but the officer had reasonable suspicion to arrest her. Her license was seized and was sent to the state before she was booked into a local jail on suspicion of DUI and reckless driving.

WAGA news had no comment about Davis’ arrest and said only that they were investigating the incident.
