Las Vegas, NV-An elderly couple in visiting Vegas over the weekend was seriously injured when a drunken driver set off a chain-reaction collision.

NBC News 3 reports that Guadalupe Carbajal, 35, was the behind the wheel Sunday night when he slammed into two cars stopped at a traffic light. The two cars were then pushed forward with one of them slamming into the elderly couple from South Dakota and they were crossing Koval Lane.

NBC reports that both seniors suffered broken bones and other injuries and were listed in serious condition. One other drive suffered minor injuries.

Police said Carbajal failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DUI causing bodily harm, according to NBC.
