Florida Woman Texts “Driving drunk … I’ll be dead thanks to you” to Ex-Boyfriend Minutes before Deadly Crash
Miami, FL- A young Florida woman who is accused of causing a fatal drunken driving accident sent numerous disturbing texts to her boyfriend minutes before the crash it was revealed in court this week.
In 2013, Mila Dago was in the middle of a messy break up with her boyfriend when she and a friend went drinking in downtown Miami. The Bradenton Herald reports that just minutes before running a red light and slamming into a truck, Dago sent several nasty texts to her soon-to-be ex.
In one of the texts she said “Drunk driving…woo,” telling him, “I’ll be dead thanks to you. She sent another one that said “Latta,” and a few minutes later she slammed into the side of a truck driven by a 51-year-old man; he survived.
But Dago didn’t die, her friend Irina Reinoso, 22 was the only fatality in the accident that night.
Two hours after the crash, Dago’s blood alcohol concentration was .179, the Bradenton Herald reported.
Dago pleaded not guilty to DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and two counts of DUI with damage to a person.
Thursday prosecutors presented the string of texts to the court which could prove to be pretty damning evidence.
