Jacksonville Man Charged with Fatal Hit-and-run Has Prior DUI

Jacksonville, FL- Police have a charged a 39-year-old Jacksonville man with for fatally striking another motorist and fleeing the scene of an accident.

News4Jax reports that the accident occurred on February 28th on Gillespie Avenue. According to reports, 39-year-old Jerome Brennan was traveling north when he ran through a stop sign at Drury Lane. After blowing through the stop sign, Brennan T-boned another vehicle.

The driver of that vehicle, a 54-year-old woman, was rushed to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her husband told News4Jax she was just a few blocks away from home when her life was cut short.

News4Jax reports that Jerome Brennan, 39, has an extensive record or arrests and traffic violations including a prior DUI and driving with a revoked license. The station reports that Brennan has been arrested for driving with a revoked license six times.

Brennan has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death without rendering aid.
