Long Island, NY- The Lohans can’t seem to stay out of trouble. While Lindsay Lohan has just completed her sixth stay at rehab, her mother Dina is now in trouble after she was arrested for driving under the influence in Long Island late last week.

According to reports, Lohan was traveling 77 mph in 55 mph zone on the Northern State Parkway when she was spotted by police late last Thursday. According to authorities, Lindsay’s momager blew a .20 on her breathalyzer test; the legal limit in New York is .08.

She was taken to the Farmingdale police station where she alleges she was harmed by police, but people are inclined to say all sorts of ridiculous things when they are drunk. They summoned ambulance for her, but the EMTs didn’t notice any injuries.

“State Police called an ambulance to have Lohan evaluated,” the police statement reads. “When emergency personnel arrived and evaluated Lohan, there were no injuries and she recanted her claim.”

Lohan’s attorney, Mark Heller, tried their best to hedge off any negative publicity with a statement given to the Entertainment Tonight attempting to explain away his client’s behavior.

“Dina Lohan is a good person. Her life has been dedicated to her four children,” the statement said, according to People. “She has worked hard her entire life and she has been a ‘Parent Trapped’ with the entire world watching her in a fishbowl with murky water due to no fault of her own.”

In the statement, Heller also called for leniency on Dina’s behalf. “She appreciates the grave seriousness of this matter and is mindful that the Nassau County District Attorney considers these types of cases a top priority. But as an attorney with 45 years of experience, I am confident that as a first time offender, with absolutely no prior record, that the Judicial System will treat Dina Lohan with even-handed fairness.”

If Dina is convicted, she could face up to a year in jail, thousands of dollars in fines and penalties and she could lose her license for up to one year. She will most likely be able to avoid the jail term, since she has a well-practiced attorney on her side, but she might not be able to keep her license.

Dina’s arraignment is Sept. 24th; meanwhile she was released from jail early Friday. Her less-troubled daughter Ali picked her up from the police station, the New York Daily News reported.

This was Dina’s first DWI arrest and she hasn’t had too many run-ins with the law, with the exception of the time police were called to her home after she and Lindsay got into a heated argument while they were drunk. No charges were filed for that incident.

Since Lindsay is well-versed in the workings of the court, after her numerous arrests including one for intoxicated driving and cocaine possession, she can give her mother some advice on what to expect from her DWI charge.
