Fort Dodge, IA- A Texas man is facing a host of charges after causing a single-vehicle accident in Iowa that left one person dead.
The Des Moines Register reports that the accident occurred on May 30th in Roland, which is approximately 57 miles southeast of Fort Dodge when a 23-year-old man ran a stop sign. The car, carrying four passengers, left the roadway and rolled over several times.
One of the car’s occupants, a 30-year-old man also from Texas, was seriously injured and was flown to a local hospital where he later died. Two other occupants of the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver, who was also seriously injured, was later charged with OWI, vehicular homicide and vehicular assault in connection with the accident, according to the Register. Police said he will be placed under arrest as soon as he is released from the hospital.
